HANCOCK, Mich. (WLUC) — A fundraising event for dog lovers is set for this Saturday to support Presley, a nearly eight-year-old Newfoundland recovering from aggressive bone cancer.
Presley, a search-and-rescue dog, recently had one of his front legs amputated and is undergoing chemotherapy. The initial fundraising goal of $2,500 has now been raised to $5,000 due to unexpected medical costs.
Presley’s owner, Amber Kraft, explained that the additional funds will help cover the ongoing treatment, including four more chemotherapy sessions and any associated lab work.
The Presley’s Puppy Party Fundraiser will feature puppy races, treat bags, an online auction, and a pup art station. Originally priced at $20, attendees can now donate any amount to participate. Kraft emphasized that the event is meant to be a fun, casual gathering for dogs and their owners.
The event will take place at Hancock Dog Park from noon to 2 p.m. Organizers are currently $1,400 shy of their $5,000 goal. Donations can be made through the fundraiser’s GoFundMe page or via Venmo.
