Jenkintown, PA — Daniel Isaacsohn, a Jenkintown resident, founded MuttHaviorist Dog Training & Canine Rehabilitation just over three years ago. With more than 15 years of experience in the field, he holds dual certifications as both a professional dog trainer and a behaviorist—an uncommon combination in the industry.
Isaacsohn provides in-home training and rehabilitation services within an hour’s drive of Jenkintown. His services cover a wide range of behavioral needs, including basic training, housebreaking, and aggression issues.
“These certifications are the gold standard in the industry,” Isaacsohn said. “There’s nothing I haven’t done with dogs. I work with every breed, every size, and any issue. I’m very hands-on and dig into the details.”
His career began overseas, after adopting an Alaskan Malamute named Magellan. That experience sparked his interest in dog behavior. Upon returning to the U.S., Isaacsohn volunteered at a Boston animal shelter before training dogs at PetSmart.
“After a short time, I knew this was what I was meant to do,” he writes on his website.
Isaacsohn earned his Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) title in 2017. He later added the Certified Behavior Consultant Canine – Knowledge Assessed (CBCC-KA) credential in 2021. He has also served as a behaviorist at a Philadelphia inner-city shelter and worked as a trainer and behaviorist at a veterinary hospital.
Now serving Glenside and surrounding communities, Isaacsohn has logged nearly 13,000 hours of training across group sessions, private lessons, shelters, and veterinary environments.
“Our training uses positive reinforcement,” he said. “I also work with people—dog training for humans, you could say. I’m honest and open. I love this work and just want to help dogs and their owners have better lives.”
Isaacsohn emphasized that MuttHaviorist offers a faster turnaround time than most veterinary behaviorists.
“My waitlist is only a couple of weeks,” he said.
