A 33-year-old woman has been arrested after a string of disturbing animal attacks in the Moredon area of Swindon, Wiltshire Police confirmed on Thursday.
The woman was taken into custody on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control, following multiple incidents spanning the past month. These included the attack of one person and two dogs in April, as well as the fatal mauling of a cat on May 3.
The dog involved has been seized by officers.
PC Sam Young of the Swindon Local Policing Tasking Team acknowledged widespread public concern and thanked the community for its assistance in identifying the suspect. The woman is currently being questioned under Section 3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act.
The case highlights growing unease about dog-related violence in residential areas and may renew calls for tighter controls and better enforcement of existing legislation.
