Woman Dies After Dog Attack in Southend

A 34-year-old woman has tragically passed away following a dog attack in Southend, Essex.

Essex Police confirmed that emergency services were called to a property in Southend at 11:00 p.m. on Monday, after receiving a report from the ambulance service. The woman, who sustained severe injuries in the attack, was rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, she died in the early hours of Wednesday at the Royal London Hospital.

Authorities reported that the dog involved in the incident has been seized. It was noted that the dog is not of a banned breed. Two dogs were removed from the property, but police clarified that only one was believed to be responsible for the attack.

The investigation is ongoing.
